5 Seconds of Summer and One Direction‘s friendship goes way back to the days when the Australians opened for the boy band. All of 1D has shown support over the years, but it’s no secret that Niall Horan has always had a special bond with them.
We’ve always dreamed about the two bands coming together for one huge collaboration and it may not be too far off! Well… kind of.
In addition to talking about their Hogwarts houses on National Vegemite Day, the quartet gave away a huge secret.
“We wrote a song for [Niall],” Ashton revealed. Calum quickly jumped in saying, “Well, no, we didn’t actually,” before both members clarified, “It was a fake song.”
Fake song or not, we want to hear what the ghostbusting band wrote up for Niall! Maybe it isn’t the dream collaboration we had in mind, but knowing 5SOS, it must sound live and feel live.
We know Niall, himself, has been in the studio during 1D’s hiatus, so there is unheard music piling up, even if it is just a joke between friends.
