5 Seconds of Summer is spilling all the details about growing as artists, and we couldn’t be prouder of all their accomplishments!
The boys – Ashton Irwin, Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford and Calum Hood – recently spoke in an interview about everything from the success of their hit song “Youngblood” to creating a more mature sound over the years:
“We’ve worked very, very hard to create a record that could come across as genuine – musically and lyrically – whilst also putting us in a good place for our live performances. And a song like ‘Youngblood’ has articulated all of those things. It’s taken us a lot of years to make something like that and to make a record that is slightly more mature than our past records,” said Ashton.
5SOS also dished on wanting to find their “staple sound” and feeling like “Youngblood” really contributed to it. We couldn’t agree more! We can’t wait to see what the band creates next!
